A Tale of Rescue and Hope: Rescue and Investigation of Three Girls at Indo-Nepal Border.

In an incident around 5:30 pm on October 31, 2023, at the Triveni border, three young girls were rescued from a potentially perilous situation. This incident sheds light on the complex issue of human trafficking, and the tireless efforts of organizations and authorities to prevent it.

It all began with the three girls trying to cross the India-Nepal border, accompanied by a man. The man decided to cross the border ahead of the girls, with the belief that separating from them would reduce the likelihood of unwanted attention at the border checkpoint. Recognizing the potential risk to the girls, JCDS Nepal's staff members deployed at the border approached them for interrogation. After a joint check conducted by JCDS Nepal (Jyoti Community Development Service Nepal) and APF Nepal (Armed Police Force Nepal), the girls were taken to the Area Police Office for further investigation. As the situation unfolded, it became evident that the man was not a trafficker, and his intentions were not malicious. Nevertheless, the collaborative efforts of JCDS Nepal, APF Nepal, and Nepal Police led to a thorough investigation that uncovered the girls' vulnerability. The girls were kept in the protective custody of JCDS Nepal for a day until they were reunited with their families. Consequently, the girls were sent back to their homes after contacting their families. This decision was taken to protect them from the risk of being trafficked across the border, a peril they might have encountered if it weren't for the watchful border authorities.

This uplifting story stands as a testament to the dedication and vigilance of the staff members and security personnel involved. It highlights the importance of remaining watchful at border crossings and being prepared to respond swiftly to protect those who may be in danger.  While the initial encounter may have raised suspicions, the collaborative efforts of JCDS Nepal, APF Nepal, and Nepal Police ensured that the situation was handled with utmost care and compassion. So, let's join hands together to combat human trafficking.
