Empowering Rural Women Through Spinning Wheel Training in Madi Municipality

From November 28 to December 4, 2024, Jyoti Community Development Service Nepal, in collaboration with Madi Municipality, organized a 7-day spinning wheel training session at Madi Municipality -9, Hanumanjhula. The training aimed to empower Kishan Mahila Sahuma (Farmers Women Group) members by offering them valuable skills that can uplift their livelihoods and create economic opportunities.

The initiative was designed to help women in rural areas gain knowledge and hands-on experience with traditional spinning techniques, which hold cultural and economic significance. This initiative promoted self-sufficiency and contributed to the preservation of local crafts. The training was a great success, with participants actively engaging in learning and skill development.

The closing ceremony, held on December 4, 2024, was graced by several distinguished guests. The Chief Guest for the event was Tara Kumari Kaji Mahato, Mayor of Madi Municipality. Special Guests included Deputy Mayor Khem Prasad Mahato, Ward No. 9 Chairperson Ghana Shyam Dawadi, and other esteemed dignitaries, including Executive Member Bina Thapa Magar, Ward No. 9 Secretary, Sub-Inspector of Armed Police Force Nepal BOP Badarjhula, Executive Director of Jyoti Nepal Rajan Sunar, Proprietor of BM Handicraft Buddhi Maya Ghale, Trainer Narayan Prasad Bhattrai, and Chairman of the Tole Development Committee Ganga Maya Gurung. The presence of these distinguished individuals added great value to the event and underscored the importance of supporting rural women in their journey toward empowerment.

We would also like to sincerely thank BM Handicraft for providing the skilled trainers who made this training possible. Their contribution was invaluable in ensuring the participants received quality instruction, and we appreciate their continued support of community initiatives.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Madi Municipality for their valuable collaboration in this initiative. The joint effort to make a positive difference in the lives of rural women is something we truly cherish. We look forward to continuing this partnership and fostering a future of growth and empowerment for the community. Together, we can bring about lasting change and open new opportunities for women in Madi Municipality.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this training, and we hope our relationship continues to flourish in the days to come.
